Lindsey Pence Doctor of Veterinary Medicine / Owner Dr. Lindsey Pence grew up in Greentown, IN., and graduated from Eastern High School. She received a Bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in 2010, and then graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. After earning her DVM, Lindsey completed an equine internship in Fort Wayne, IN. She then moved back to the Greentown area and began practicing small animal medicine. Lindsey and her husband Zack have been married since October 2013, but the two have known each other since starting grade school together. They enjoy spending time with family, especially their children and the family dog. Lindsey fell in love with all animals at an early age and enjoys horses, being outdoors, archery, and relaxing in her free time. Dr. Pence is a member of the Wabash Valley Veterinary Association, the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Fun Fact: Greentown Animal Hospital was actually the first vet clinic she ever set foot in, for a middle school Vet Explorer's fun education night!
Shelby Hollingsworth Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Dr. Shelby Hollingsworth considers Russiaville, IN to be her hometown, although she moved many times throughout her childhood. Her favorite place to live outside of Indiana was Weisbaden, Germany for first and second grade, where she traveled Europe and formed a lifelong obsession with German and Swiss chocolate. Shelby earned her bachelor of science in biology from IUK, a master's in biology at IUPUI, and her doctor of veterinary medicine at Purdue. She married her husband Kaleb in 2017, and they welcomed their first child in 2022. They are also pet parents to a Golden Retriever, Georgia. Shelby enjoys traveling, reading, gardening and being outside as much as possible.
Fun Fact: Although Dr. Shelby's pace of moving and travel has slowed significantly, her next dream travel destination is Australia!
Scott Emch Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Dr. Emch graduated from Purdue University in 1989. Scott is a relief veterinarian and comes to our hospital once a month. Scott lives in the Indianapolis area and we are very grateful for the services he has been able to provide to us and our patients. He is a highly qualified veterinarian who shares his gifts not only with us, but with those in the Indianapolis area as well.
Fun Fact: Dr. Scott owns his own practice, Cicero Veterinary Clinic in Cicero, Indiana. He is also owner of Well Pets since 1990. He goes by Dr. Scott, trying to pronounce his last name is a bit difficult!
Tiffani Sterling, Technician Manager and Veterinary Assistant Tiffani works full time as an assistant to the veterinarians. She started working at the clinic in January of 2015. She is a graduate of The Vet Tech Institute in Fort Wayne. She has two pets at home; Sophie and Athena, who keep her on her toes all the time. Fun Fact: Tiffani started job shadowing at our hospital her senior year in High School, did her externship from college with us, and was working with us after graduating Tech school. She and her husband had their first child, a little boy, in July 2021!
Regan O'Neal Registered Veterinary Technician Regan works as a part-time veterinary technician to the veterinarians. She graduated from the International Business College in 2018 and started working with our hospital in 2020. She has 2 fur babies at home to keep her busy in her down time.
Fun Fact: Regan is a new Grandma to her beautiful grandbabies! She loves to camp, swim, and spend much needed family time with game nights!
Athena Steele Registered Veterinary Technician Athena works as a full time veterinary technician to the veterinarians. Athena has been a Registered Veterinary Technician since graduating in 2006 from Portland Community College in Oregon, and she has been working in the veterinary field (in two different states!) for over 20 years. Always one with a passion for animals, her original goal was to be a jockey. At 8 years old when she surpassed the height restrictions, she soon set her sights on working in the veterinary field. Now she lives in Greentown with a small smorgasbord of animals, both two and four-legged. Athena is newer to the clinic but brings a wealth of experience in caring for your pets.
Fun Fact: Athena grew up moving around due to a father in the military, but she considers Oregon her original home. She runs half-marathons for fun. Don't worry, she's only half crazy!
Sierra Fritsch Veterinary Assistant Sierra grew up in Kokomo. She graduated from Taylor High School, completing 2 years of training as a veterinary assistant with the Kokomo Career Center. Sierra started working at our clinic in September, 2022. In her spare time, she likes to hang out with friends and spend time at home with her 4 dogs. Fun Fact: Sierra enjoys running and was on the cross-country and track teams in High School.
Kia Gilbert Receptionist Kia was born in Lafayette IN. Later, she moved to Kokomo with her parents around age 7. She then attended and graduated from Kokomo High School. Kia found her love for helping people right out of high school, which is where she started her assisted living journey. She went to classes to get her CNA license, which is the career she continued until she knew it was time for a change. This is when Kia came to Greentown Animal Hospital. The start of her new profession was difficult at first, but with the help of her caring co-workers, she adjusted well. Kia has a full house, which includes her loving husband JP Gilbert, whom she married in 2011. Their home also includes 5 cats which she says live better than her kids. Kia is a mom to 6 kids and 3 bonus daughter-in-laws. Fun Fact: Kia is a grandma to her first grandson as of June 2023! Kia loves to go to Kokomo Speedway to watch the races with friends and family, as well as spending the afternoon at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Emily Shinn Receptionist Emily works as a part-time receptionist for our veterinary hospital. She started working for the clinic in September 2020. When she's not at work, she runs her own farm, consisting of chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, 2 goats, 1 pig, 2 dogs and a cat!
Fun Fact: Emily enjoys bowfishing with her husband. She's traveled to Ireland. Her favorite part was getting to see some of her heritage including Castle Ward! She loves to bake-especially good ole fashioned chocolate chip cookies!
