Your New Kitten - Birth to Year One
First Visit (9 Weeks Old)
- Examination by Veterinarian
- Feline Leukemia test (recommended)
- DRCC (Distemper, Rhinotacheitis, Calicivirus, and Chlamydia) / FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) vaccine
- Kitten is weighed and dewormed for intestinal parasites
- Heartworm and flea prevention started
Second Visit (12 Weeks Old)
- Examination by Veterinarian
- Booster on DRCC and FeLV vaccine
- Rabies vaccine (kitten must be at least 12 weeks old to receive rabies vaccine)
- Weight is recorded and fecal is checked for intestinal parasites
- Pet is old enough to be spayed or neutered, and declawed at this time
- Heartworm and flea prevention
Your Adult Cat - Year One to Year Eight
Regular examinations are essential to ensure your cat maintains the highest quality of life.
- Annual examination by Veterinarian
- Booster on Rabies annually
- Booster on DRCC / FeLV at first year, then every three years thereafter
- Microscopic fecal exam
- Heartworm and flea prevention
Your Senior Dog - Year Nine and Up
Senior cats require special needs. Talk to your veterinarian about the options available for your cat during her senior years.
- Annual examination by Veterinarian (every 6 months recommended)
- Vaccine boosters (Rabies annually, DRCC / FeLV every three years)
- Fecal microscopic exam
- Draw blood for Senior Internal Health Profile (recommended annually)
- Continued heartworm and flea prevention
- Urinalysis
