Emergency Services

Dr. Bryan Mohr provides weeknight after hours emergency care for the pets of established clients. If you need emergency care for your pet on a weekend, either Dr. Mohr or one of the area veterinarins will be on call, ensuring that your pet will receive the necessary care. Our hospital phone number or the emergency number will provide the information you will need in order to contact whoever is on call.

Contact Greentown Animal Hospital immediately if you notice any of the following:

In General

  • A body temperature greater than 104° F or less than 100° F
  • Any type of respiratory (breathing) distress
  • Any indication that more than one body system is involved (Neurological, GI, urinary)
  • Any problem that dramatically worsens over several hours
  • Any time there is longer than two hours between delivering a puppy or kitten
  • Obvious fracture of a limb
  • Non-weight bearing lamenss lasting more than 12 hours

Bleeding

  • Bleeding that cannot be stopped by applying pressure
  • Bleeding from body openings (nose, mouth, ears, rectum, urinary tract)
  • Excessive blood loss
  • Weakness, difficulty breathing, or a reluctance to move after a bleeding episode
  • Abdominal, mucous membrane (mouth and eyes), or excessive unexplained bruising

Gastrointestinal

  • Inability to hold down food or water (vomiting)
  • Frequent vomiting or diarrhea with a loss of large volume of fluid
  • Vomiting following a suspected ingestion of a foreign object (toy, garbage, rocks, rawhide)
  • Swollen belly accompanied by intense pain
  • Four or more episodes of vomiting or diarrhea in a puppy or a dog older than 8 years
